The project is being privately funded and will cost around $90 million, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The TDLR website said construction is expected to begin Jan. 1, 2027, and finish Jan. 1, 2029.

The museum was last renovated in 2020, when construction reimagined the warehouse and office space.
The museum opened its facility in Victory Park in December 2012, but has roots in Dallas going back nearly 100 years. The museum was created from the 2006 merger of The Dallas Museum of Natural History (1936), The Science Place (1946), and the Dallas Children’s Museum (1995).
