AKTV8’s PressureTech TPMS is now available through the Platform Science Virtual Vehicle Marketplace, giving commercial truck drivers and fleet managers access to real-time tire pressure and temperature data on in-cab tablets.
The integration does not require an additional gateway or hardware beyond the PressureTech sensors, according to AKTV8.
PressureTech TPMS sensors attach to the valve stem of trucks and trailers and monitor tire pressure and temperature. Each sensor includes a laser-etched QR code designed to simplify configuration. AKTV8 said the sensors were designed and tested to OEM and heavy-truck standards.
Through the Platform Science integration, sensor data is also transmitted to the Fleet AKTV8 dashboard portal.
“Maintaining optimal tire pressure is a measurable and proven advantage for commercial fleets, and AKTV8 is committed to creating made-easy technologies that increase safety, productivity, and performance,” said Gary Meyers, CEO and co-founder of AKTV8.
AKTV8 said properly inflated tires can reduce rolling resistance and help heavy trucks operate more efficiently.
Citing U.S. Department of Transportation research, the company said fleets using tire pressure monitoring systems can see fuel-efficiency improvements of 1.4% or more and tire-life improvements of 20% or more.
AKTV8 also said PressureTech TPMS can provide fleets with:
