Parents and educators now have a clear view on how their students are developing within STEM subject areas.
The Alabama STEM Council has launched a new Math and Science Proficiency Data Dashboard.
As the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program results in math and science are essential to the Alabama STEM workforce, the dashboard provides the most recent scores available.
The dashboard also provides the number of students meeting or exceeding the minimum proficiency levels along with demographics for the upcoming school year.
With these results being easily accessible, families are now able to determine student performance and acknowledge areas that still seek improvement.
The STEM Council already has ideas on how they can improve the dashboard.
Youth unemployment, labor force participation rates and National Assessment of Educational Progress scores are just a few of the enhancements the council has in mind.
The council believes these improvements can connect student data with workforce trends that contribute to the initiatives of the Alabama Department of Workforce.
Overall the goal of the Proficiency Data Dashboard is to strengthen STEM education, expand career awareness and support workforce development statewide, supporting the mission of the Alabama STEM Council.
