JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association hosted a free aviation STEM curriculum demonstration Tuesday at the Hilton Garden Inn on Vann Drive.
The program introduces students to flying, aircraft maintenance and manufacturing, and can help some students earn college credit. It is already in use in more than 1,500 schools across the country.
Teachers, school officials and home school groups were invited to attend the demonstration.
The event is part of a statewide recruitment push with the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division to expand the free curriculum to more schools.
