Students enrolled in Mitchell High School’s Career and Technical Education Health Science Classes recently earned certifications.  After learning the curriculum pertaining to emergency response, Health Science 1 students were able to get hands-on experience as they completed the First-Aid certification course.  To become certified, students had to successfully call 911 operators and complete scenarios for CPR, choking, evacuation methods, bleeding control, and stroke.  The course was led by Jimmy English, instructor for American Heart Association.  In addition, Health Science 2 Honors students completed a CPR certification course, led by Jimmy English, which is an extension on the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems taught in the class curriculum.  In this course, students completed mock scenarios calling 911 and performing adult, child, and infant CPR and Heimleich. Mitchell High Health Sciences would like to thank Jimmy for his consistent time, support, and dedication to our program.
