Kendel L. Science, 79, of Lowell passed away at 3:35am, Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at his home. He was born September 8, 1946, in Marietta, a son of James A. Science and Madge E. Mankins Science.
Kendel proudly served 22 years in the U.S. Navy and was employed at Kardex and retired as Assistant Manager at Speedway. He was a life member of the Salvation Army.
On July 10, 1965, he married Diana S. Thrasher who survives with children, Tammy (Buzz) Howard of Lancaster, Kendel L. (Cathy) Science, Jr. of Springfield, OH, Charlene (Darin) Kuhn of Marietta and James Science II of Marietta; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary McCardell and Nora Schau and brother, Junior “Henry” Science.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sonny Science and James R. “Jim” Science and sister, Eleanor “Ellie” Schau.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday (July 24) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Major Todd Hughes officiating. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Mausoleum. Family will greet friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
