WWU Political Science Professor Bidisha Biswas has been named a CFR Education Ambassador and will spend the next eight months engaged in professional development to expand students’ interest and knowledge of global affairs.
CFR Education is the educational arm of the Council on Foreign Relations, a nonpartisan think tank devoted to promoting informed public discussion on issues facing the U.S. and the world.
“In a fast-changing global landscape, I look forward to working with CFR to better prepare our students to understand our world,” Biswas said.
In addition to her work in Political Science, Biswas is also the WWU Faculty Legislative Representative. She teaches courses on international relations, American foreign policy, refugee flows and conflict processes.

Western Washington University’s main campus is situated on the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, who have lived in the Salish Sea basin, all throughout the San Juan Islands and the North Cascades watershed from time immemorial. We express our deepest respect and gratitude to our Indigenous neighbors, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
