OKLAHOMA CITY — Science Museum Oklahoma President and CEO Sherry Marshall has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Science and Technology Centers, an international association representing more than 600 science centers, museums and organizations in more than 35 countries.
Marshall will begin a three-year term Sept. 19, joining science museum leaders from around the world to help guide the association and advance public engagement with science.
Marshall began her career at Science Museum Oklahoma in 1994 as a museum educator. She later led the museum’s programs and outreach before becoming president and CEO in 2016.
She also serves on the Oklahoma Museums Association Board and chairs the Museum and Science Center Committee for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
“The impact that museums have on people’s lives is real, and I am living proof,” Marshall said. “Science museums provide the unique opportunity for people to see science as something that belongs in their community and a part of their everyday lives.”
Marshall was recently named one of The Journal Record‘s 2026 Oklahoma Women of the Year and one of its 2025 Oklahoma’s Most Admired CEOs.
“ASTC is grateful for Sherry’s service and commitment,” said Christofer Nelson, ASTC’s president and CEO. “Members of the Board of Directors — each distinguished leaders — bring tremendous insight and important perspectives on our field as we work together to increase understanding of an engagement with science and technology among all people.”
