OAK HILL — Engaging students in hands-on activities stimulates learning retention, especially when teaching science, technology, engineering and math. The Southern Ohio Cleanup Company recently provided a $1,000 grant to Oak Hill School System to help purchase equipment to support hands-on learning.
“This project will support students in our Chemistry and Physical Science classes, approximately 120 students,” Oak Hill Principal Whitney Crabtree said in a release about the funds. “The requested STEM education materials will provide students with hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.”
