Are your kids looking for a fun way to enter into the Halloween spirit? Look no further than Benedictine College’s Spooky Science Fun Bash! This free, annual event at Benedictine College brings fun, festive science displays to area youth.
The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on all floors of Westerman Hall, the science and engineering building. Students and faculty from the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Math & Computer Science, Physics & Astronomy, Nursing, and Psychology are coordinating engaging games and displays for attendees. There is plenty of free parking in the Murphy Recreation Center parking lot behind Westerman Hall. Entrance to parking is off Mound Street. Students will be in the parking lot to direct and assist guests.
There will be numerous displays and demonstrations in the hallways, classrooms and labs of Westerman Hall, including things like Jumping Pumpkins, Ghost Bubbles and much more. New this year are a dissection display and a termite trail activity.
The evening also includes face painting, mask making, a “skeletons & skulls” matching game, beanbag zombies, carnivorous plants and plenty of popcorn, cupcakes, and candy. There is no cost to attend but an adult must accompany minors at all times.
