OAKVILLE, ONT. — Infrastructure Ontario (IO), the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, have prequalified three proponents to design, build, finance and maintain a new science facility complex located in Oakville, Ont.
According to a release, teams were prequalified through a Request for Qualifications process that launched in September 2025.
The prequalified teams are:

A request for proposals will be issued in early fall. The successful team is expected to be announced in late 2027.
The new science facility complex will permanently replace the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks’ facility at 125 Resources Rd. and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development’s temporary facility at 6295 Northam Dr.
The new space will bring the ministries together under one roof and will feature a flexible, purpose-built design with adaptable laboratories, science workshop spaces and offices to support both current operations and future growth, the release explains.
It will also include “future-ready infrastructure to support emerging economic sectors and protect public health and the environment through advanced monitoring of radiological materials, environmental contaminants and live viruses.”
It is being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
